STUDIO 3 - WEEK 1

For Studio 3, the Introduction was very similar to a course we took called Film studies, studio 3 have brought some of the elements we've learned from Film studies back but the information and the techniques we're learning are more of an upgraded version, getting us to observe films closer, in every small detail.

The Minor project we are required to do during studio 3 is to make a short film based on an original story that is pitched by the students and the best ideas will be voted for, finally for the language of the film it should be in the native language of the director of the film. I thought we were going to pick a group immediately in week 1 and start working but everything is being done step by a step, in week 1 we went through what we will be going to do from the beginning till the end of studio 3 that involve the major final project and the learning outcomes that will be taught to us, whether it's a physical learning outcome such as using film machinery or a visual learning outcome where we get to composite files into film.

We also have to do a film analysis on an opening scene of a film picked by our lecturer, there was 3 group so every group talked about a specific film and our group got a movie called ''Chungking express'', it wasn't a learning outcome but it was one of our very first tasks to do in the beginning of Studio 3, more of a warm up.

The analysis included observing and talking about the editing style, the lighting, the camera movements and shots and the mise-en-scene (the settings, arrangements of props and theme in the film)

Studio 3 is being cut into 3 classes, 2 classes for the major project and the learning outcomes that follows it and the 3rd class is labeled under ''Design camp'' where we will be learning more creative methods to apply to our films using after effects or color-grading a film professionally using the DaVinci Resolve Studio
